BCDC Mission Statement:

The Brownsville Community Development Corporation was incorporated in 1974. Since its inception the corporation has offered a wide variety of services to the residents of Brownsville and surrounding neighborhoods. "The Brownsville Community Development Corporation (BCDC) provides for and seeks to inspire the cultural, economic, medical, and educational well-being of every individual and family in its communities."

BMS Mission Statement:

In 1982, BCDC established BMS, a FQHC serving the unique needs of the Central Brooklyn residents. The Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center (BMS) provides and promotes integrative and high quality medical, dental, and social services to enable every individual and family in the communities it serves to achieve total health.

BMS is Leading a Wellness Revolution in Central Brooklyn!

For the first time in American history, as a direct result of the growing prevalence of preventable illnesses without adequate healthcare resources, today's children are predicted to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents1. At the Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center (BMS) we believe that nothing short of a revolution – a Wellness Revolution – is needed to reverse this troubling trend.

At BMS we have the demonstrated ability, experience, understanding and drive to continue to impact community wellness in a manner that will create permanent positive change - first in the communities that we serve, and then, through the provision of replicable models of care, throughout our City and beyond.
